Crystalline Gold Nuggets.
Natural Crystalline gold nuggets is gold in it’s most natural form before it has been weathered and eroded from where the gold initially formed. The majority of gold is in worn nugget form and is called alluvial.
Crystalline gold can take many forms including octahedral, dodecahedral, and cubic crystals occur, as well as combinations of these forms, but they are uncommon and are often distorted.
Dendrites, wires, nuggets, encrustations, and small flakes are the more common forms. Crystals are often stacked into elongated groups, and may form in lines or patterns, especially in herringbone formation. Spinel twinning in groups of small crystals is a well-known habit. Crystals may form in hopper growths.
